About Us
Harding Memorial is a large primay school situated on the Cregagh Road in South East Belfast. The school was established in 1913 and has been at the heart of the community for over one hundred years.
Ethos
The welcoming ethos of Harding Memorial Primary School has been achieved through good relationships between staff, pupils, parents and the local community, and we continually strive to maintain this friendly and caring reputation. Excellent parental support and co-operation ensures that all pupils wear the designated school uniform and maintain high standards with regard to attendance and punctuality.
A strong partnership exists between staff and parents, who are encouraged to play an active role in their children's education. There is a flourishing Parent/Teacher Association which is extremely supportive and untiring in its efforts on behalf of the school.
At Harding Memorial Primary School we value:
- Our happy, caring ethos
- An attractive, stimulating environment
- Academic achievement
- Respect for self and others
- High standards of behaviour
- Honesty with self and others
- Self discipline, accepting responsibility for one's decisions
We aim to offer every child a variety of activites, both curricular and extra-curricular, to provide a full and balanced education. We believe in hard work and academic achievement, with children constantly being encouraged to reach their highest potential. In order to learn effectively, children are encouraged to develop self-confidence and self-respect, through both traditional and modern teaching methods. It is the aim of the school that children attain a degree of independence whilst possessing the ability to work as part of a team or group, and be a participator, not a spectator.
